For this exterior renderings I used cinema4D, octane render and carbonscatter. Carbon Scatter is a very powerfull scattering solution and is available as c4d-plugin. This tool handels millions of high-poly instances with no problem and works very stable. This job was done in very short time thanks octane render. With the actual octane beta-version I was able to combine sun with HDR-sky-map.
